Lootie Johansen-Bibby '05

Dear Friends,

Well it does seem a long time since I have written a message to all yous LISPA people. How are you all, I wonder, out there in the world doing your things?

I am still here in London, and am prompted to write because I wanted to share with you a little life event. That is that Simon and I are getting married! Hopefully next Summer some time, and maybe even for the rest of our lives..

Apart from that, things plod slowly forwards. London seems thin on the ground without you, and misses you a great deal. I am working, fighting (mainly with myself these days in your absense), trying to make £££, getting a foot in the door, on which it sometimes slams quite painfully, and generally going about the buisness of wondering how in the world to do it.
So that is I.

I hope the sun in shining in your place. Be good to hear from you.
Wishing you all astonishing luck,

and lots of love

Lootie (the future Mrs) xxxxx

Lisa Gallacher '05 er Short that is...

.....just thought I'd let you know whats been happening with me...

I have just completed a nine month tour throughout the UK as a puppeteer with a children's show, completely manic, but what a way to see Britain. Benjamin and I also married on April 22, 2006, so I guess I now write this as Lisa Short!

We are very much settled in the UK, with a studio appartment in West London. Going to Prague in a few weeks for a weekend break, then Padova for the clown workshop, then travel passes across Europe...who knows when or where it will all end!

Anyway, just a note to say Hi Love, Lisa (and Ben) xx

Liz Baron '04 - A Wrinkle in Time

Hi Friends -

Below, please find the flyer for our show, at the Boulder Public Library Theater, this Saturday. Part One @ 1:30/ Part Two @ 2:20. We did Part One last month, and the audience response was amazing. Our show is full of energy, surprise, creativity, humor, the pain and suffering of being a dorky outcast who must battle the forces of evil, because they've imprisoned your father, and they are taking over the universe... you know, a typical day in a pre-teen's life....

We're working in that wonderfully stripped down, we-make-it-happen-just-with-our-bodies-and-a-few-key-props (while recruiting your imagination to join in)-way. And, I'd love to have you there!

Please forward this to anyone you think might be interested! Thanks, and and have a great week - Liz

Jason Bohan '05 in Floyd Collins

Presents
FLOYD COLLINS

“Dieter Bierbrauer's voice is perfect for Floyd.”

“Zoe Pappas floats through her scenes as a bereft waif -- a compelling performance.”

“Latté Da's staging, directed by Peter Rothstein, is every bit as articulate as we've come to expect from this company.”

"Jason Bohon, as a reporter who crawls into the cave to interview Floyd, also takes an affecting journey from naive wimp to a solemn and toothsome individual."

--Graydon Royce, Star Tribune

Dieter Bierbrauer (Floyd Collins), below, and Jason Bohon (Skeets Miller)

music and lyrics:

ADAM GUETTEL

book and additional lyrics:

TINA LANDAU

Kentucky, 1925. Floyd Collins, a caver and visionary, descends into the earth.
Trapped 150 feet under ground, the ensuing rescue effort above explodes into the first media circus in America. These true events inspired this groundbreaking and moving new musical by Tina Landau and Adam Guettel, winner of the 2005 Tony Award.

News from Three Sticks

Lispa Friends,

The Three Sticks Theatre Company is proud to announce that we now have a website. Check it out at www.threestickstheatre.org. The website is still in its early stages, just as we are, and can only include so much without a history. We hope to get more photos up of the most recent production, The Ice Palace, as soon as we can.

We are also pleased to announce that several members of the company will gather in Minneapolis again this summer to create our third piece, Borderlines, which will be presented at the 2006 Minnesota Fringe Festival as well as the South Dakota Theatre Festival. We had such a great response to our show, Mythed, last summer and couldn't help bringing another show to these Festivals.

Finally, (we're almost out of breath) the St Paul Winter Carnival has asked us to return in 2007 with another winter-themed piece. No concrete plans have been made, but there is discussion of a wintery adaptation of William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, of course, called A Midwinter Night's Dream, with no other than Katie Melby playing... Bottom!

Keep your eyes on our website to see further upcoming shows, workshops, and events.

Yours Truly,

The Three Sticks Theatre Company
