Li-Leng Au '04 - National Theatre - Watch This Space

Hello Friends!

I'd like to invite you to watch me in Arquiem at The National Theatre for Free as part of the Watch This Space season. I'll be playing the lead female role and it will be a visual feast!

What's better than a nice balmy night on the South Bank with a glass of something cool? - a public hanging! Or rather, 40 minutes of live thrilling, haunting theatre outside The National Theatre.

I do hope you can make it.

Best Wishes,
Li-Leng Au

Don't miss this rare opportunity to work with Giovanni right here in New York . Come get a healthy dose of theatrical clown to launch you into Fall full of endorphins and skill.

I hope everyone is having a great summer,

Alex Georgescu '05

OK... to start with, I have no idea whjatsoever what to start with... Yet again, i have to, so i'll do so by saying that I am still alive, somewhere on the planet after a year of wandering around and getting myself involved in as many things I could find.

So... Where am I? Right now, in Poland, getting the final arrangements done for the wedding that's due on 2nd of September.

Where have i been for the last 12 months? Basically, in Romania, with a very short intermezzo in New Zealand.

What have I done? Well, as you people know me, I just cannot stick to one thing at a time, so there I was trying to do millions of them and generally getting frustrated by the lack of time, the stress or whatever other factor you might think of - you just name it, i'm assuring you it was somehow involved in the process.

The outcome:
1. 3 productions of story telling in a puppet theatre with Romanian folk tales
2. a production of the play "Old clown wanted" by Matei Visniec which is going to be toured in Poland this autumn and France next year, probably also to be presented in the OFF of the Avignon Festival.
3. a project of storytelling for blind and visually impaired people concluded in the production of a show based on Oscar Wilde short stories

The plans:
Well, first would be to get married. Now that's a bit more than a plan given that almost everything is set and going... Now, for the rest. I plan to move to Bucharest (that's still in Romania) for a little while, and work with a mime theatre company and give some workshops in paralel, while developing the project for the blind and visually impaired. Once again, quite many things at once. I'll get back to you with the details and, once I'll be back home with pictures of the shows and locations and whatever else might inspire me at that point...

Good luck to you all
Alex

Congratulations! Class of '06

Congratulations to the outgoing Advanced Course of 2006!

As we all know it's a bitter sweet time - Glad to have a rest, but painful to say good-bye to all of your classmates. You've spent two years grappling with the great issues in life... the difference between on-balance/off-balance... does it move the space?... can you hold the space?... and the greatest question of all - 'Is anything indeed possible?'

All our best wishes are with you as you now go out around the world spreading the joys of physical theatre and the LISPA pedagogy

Please keep in touch. Let us know what you are doing, the projects you find, the places you go.

Li Leng Au '04 - Silent Witness

Our own dear Li Leng will be guest staring in the season premier of Silent Witness on BBC 1. This time she's being interrogated for something or other... Could it be smuggling? Could it be illegal immigration? Or could it be just being in the wrong place at the wrong time?

To find out what for, tune in at 9:00 p.m. on 16 & 17 July 2006.
